WNC Only Tech Company to Win Green Dining Guide's Organic & Eco-Friendly Ingredients Award

Hsinchu, Taiwan, December 17, 2025 — Taiwan's Green Dining Guide recently held its 2025 Green Dining Awards ceremony, and the employee cafeterias of WNC Corporation (WNC) were honored with the Organic & Eco-Friendly Ingredients Award. WNC's employee cafeterias have previously been awarded two stars in the Food Made Good assessment by the Sustainable Restaurant Association (The SRA) of the UK, making them the first corporate cafeterias in Taiwan to receive international sustainability certification. This award from the Green Dining Guide highlights WNC's efforts and achievements in ensuring food safety, protecting employees' health, and supporting sustainable agriculture. WNC's Chief Sustainability Officer, Molly Lin, said, “Food production is tied to systemic issues affecting land, agriculture, carbon emissions, and resource use. Using eco-friendly food ingredients and reducing the consumption of overly processed foods not only helps protect employees' health but also reduces negative impact on the environment.”

WNC's promotion of green dining started back in 2013. After a series of major food safety incidents in Taiwan, senior management at WNC launched an internal initiative called the Good Food Movement. As a result, WNC became the first large-scale enterprise in Hsinchu Science Park to use 100% organic vegetables in its employee cafeterias, and these cafeterias also began offering a free optional extra serving of vegetables, enabling employees to enjoy healthier and safer meals. In 2022, WNC signed the Green Dining Guide's Green Food Pledge, turning its employee cafeterias into green marketplaces that focus on ensuring food safety and hygiene, using certified food ingredients and products, and creating a green dining culture that emphasizes employee well-being. These efforts enabled the company to reduce its carbon footprint, help protect the environment, and respond to key impact areas in the Food Made Good assessment of the SRA, including "Feed People Well" and "Celebrate Provenance."

WNC has long supported smallholder farmers, purchasing produce from them to support environmentally-friendly farming practices, increase income for these farmers, and help advance sustainable agriculture. In 2024, the company purchased 224,503 kilograms of organic vegetables, which reduced the company's carbon emissions by 224,503 kilograms CO₂e compared to purchasing the same amount of vegetables grown using non-organic methods. WNC has also established a dedicated group buying section for smallholder farmers to help expand their sales channels and offer employees seasonal, locally grown produce to buy. This has brought green dining beyond the cafeteria and into the daily lives of employees, further amplifying its benefits.

In 2023, WNC's employee cafeterias received the Environmental Protection Administration's Eco-Restaurant certification, the Green Dining Guide's Pioneer Enterprises in Green Dining Award, and were awarded two stars in the Food Made Good assessment by the SRA. This year, they were honored with the Organic & Eco-Friendly Ingredients Award. Going forward, WNC will continue to promote a green dining culture and leverage its corporate influence to work with employees and suppliers in building a food ecosystem that focuses on health and sustainability, creating long term value for both the company and society.
